Hello, Friends!
All this stay-at-home time has our creativity running wild! And we're not the only ones! While we've been busy shooting Senior Sessions, prepping for Summer Family Sessions, and spending time with family, it seems like so many other amazing people, businesses, and organizations are also hard at work to make the most of this time...and support those in need.
It's been so long since we've been able to see most of you in-person and truly catch up on the big and little moments of each other's lives...but we will always have writing and photography and help us stay connected...
"Best Portrait Of A Child"
Honored! Ecstatic! Overjoyed! We were all of these and more when we found out one of our images received the "Best Portrait Of A Child" award at the Virginia Professional Photographers Association Convention this year for our image entitled "Elizabeth." We truly love children, and we are happiest when photographing them, so for others to fall in love with our images as much as we do means everything to us. This was our first PPA Convention, and we met so many talented photographers...made new friends...and we look forward to the amazing education and support the PPA community shares!
We can't share the image right now because it's advancing to the National competition (ah!!) this summer...but we promise we will share as soon as we can! Big virtual hugs and deepest thanks to Elizabeth and her mom Abbey Bresett of Mint & Ivy Gifting Company for spending an afternoon with us and bringing this image to life!
Fashion Fun With MaddAlex Designs
We're so excited to partner with MaddAlex Designs to showcase their summer line of gorgeous, modern jewelry! We recently did a shoot with designer Erica Potholm and models Ava Arthur, Zoe Wallach, CJ Crombie, and Katie Nguyen Wells of AR Workshop Alexandria on location in charming Old Town, Alexandria...and we loved every moment! These ladies are all laughter, creativity, and style, and we love working with small local businesses to build their brand.
2020 Senior Sessions
Our 2020 grads have so many incredible accomplishments to be proud of, yet many of their celebratory traditions have been canceled this year -- senior trips, proms, graduations...We wanted to give our amazing grads a special experience to commemorate this milestone and celebrate them! This month we've been shooting several socially-distanced Senior Sessions in VA, capturing the essence of our grads, and each session has been amazing, filled with light and laughter! We still have a few sessions available...email us at info@reneecgage.com to book an unforgettable Senior Session for your grad!

In The News
This image from the 22308 #FrontStepsProject was used to honor and recognize Deirdre Taylor, our friend and neighbor who left Virginia a few months ago to serve in New York City as a nurse and fight COVID-19. But her journey to NYC led her to find the firefighter who had saved her from a burning building years ago! This heartwarming story has been covered by The Washington Post, and Deirdre will also be appearing on CNN for an interview with Anderson Cooper. The entire Taylor family is so full of goodness and giving...they wrote so many beautiful letters for our #LettersOfCommUNITY...always serving others...and were so excited to capture Deirdre and her family before she left on this amazing journey!
So much love and inspiration despite these crazy times! You can keep up with our adventures by following us on Facebook and Instagram! Stay home, stay safe, and cherish these little moments with the ones you love. And feel free to write back! It is so important to stay connected during these times of separation and isolation, and we'd love to hear what you're up to!
Shine bright,
Renée C. Gage Photography
